The Ministry of Youth Affairs, and the Directorate of NSS has directed Sakshi to conduct sensitization and other capacity building workshops with the youth in order to enable them to recognise, prevent and prohibit child sexual abuse. It is a one of a kind initiative, where the underlying problems of child sexual abuse are addressed. A youth led movement across India, the project’s main goal is to address the issues of the stigma attached, denial, shame and silence that goes along with gender based violence with a special emphasis on child sexual abuse.

One of Sakshi’s huge milestones is the Prevention, Prohibition, and Redress of Sexual harassment at Workplace Act (2013) which is a direct outcome of Sakshi’s landmark PIL Vishaka Vs. State of Rajasthan & Others. This case was a catalyst in the fight against gender based violence in the workplace as it issued the Vishakha guidelines. In order to ensure a safe and equal environment at the workplace, we at Sakshi, in collaboration with Naina Kapur Law conduct awareness and sensitisation workshops to explain prevention and redress mechanisms. We have successfully engaged with more than 5000 organisations so far.

Through SBOX, Sakshi has created content for the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign for the Ministry of Womend and Child Development. The impactful short videos and posters display the importance of empowering our girl children from a young age, the campaign promotes the idea of a gendered power structure, and encourage young boys and girls to uplift all around them, regardless of their biological sex.
